"Did you know?"
In the video, "Did you know?" by Dr. John Strange linked to EDM 310 Class Blog, he is discussing numerous statistics about how the world is rapidly changing. Technology is taking over the world and more and more people are become tech savvy. Even a year ago, more teens and families have gotten smartphones and computers.
I agree that the world is changing and soon everyone will have a computer in their home and everyone will have a smartphone. Even when that day comes, some new technology will be coming out. As a future educator, it is my job to stay up to date with that is going on in the world and help my students keep up also. I will have use the latest technology instead of an outdated chalkboard.

Mr. Winkle Wakes
On EDM 310 Class Blog, Mathew Needleman posted a video called "Mr. Winkle Wakes." In this video, they talk about similar aspects to what the previous video talked about. But in this one it talked about how the hospital and different businesses were improving in technology. As Mr. Winkle walks around the town going to corporations and hospitals, he sees that they are all using a computer and machines to help them. He then goes to a school and realizes that not much has changed in a hundred years. There was a computer in the room but it wasn't being used by the teacher or students.
The world is changing fast, businesses and hospitals are becoming more technological. Different machines are becoming invented to help people interact with people around the world and helping people survive and stay alive when they are sick. Learning is the same also, teachers lecture and students take notes. But I don't agree with computers are not used in the classroom. Teachers use computers to help lecture and students use computers to take notes. How to obtain knowledge will never change but making learning easier will.

The Importance of Creativity
"The Importance of Creativity" by Sir Ken Robinson on EDM 310 Class Blog, is all about the creativity of children. Sir Ken Robinson believes that creativity in kids are squashed and it starts in the classroom. He says that because kids are scared to be wrong, they can never search for their creativity. Also, he says that arts and dance is at the bottom of the hierarchy for learning. He believes creativity is just as important as mathematics. In light of the Mr. Winkle video, classrooms should also encourage the creativity of students not just the typical reading, writing, and arthritic. Kids shouldn't be afraid to be wrong.

Pinterest

Pinterest would be good for teachers because it can not only help you decorate your classroom in cute fun ways but it can also help create games and activities for students. Teachers can follow and repin other teachers and help them stay connected and come up with different ideas.
